Week 2 of the NFL season is here and what a weekend of football we have in store! But before we can get into Sunday’s action, there’s a Thursday Night Football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings to enjoy. The Eagles are coming off a narrow victory over the New England Patriots on the road, while the Vikings came up short in the red zone on multiple occasions en route to a home loss to the Buccaneers. Here are my best anytime touchdown scorer bets for the game. Additionally, make sure to also check out our NFL predictions for Week 2, especially after we went 22-9-1 across sides and totals!

A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles (+125)
Odds available at Bet365 at time of publishing.
The addition of A.J. Brown was one of the chief reasons why the Eagles took such a massive step forward a season ago. Brown quickly became a security blanket for Jalen Hurts and the connection between the pair has already carried over to this season. Against a stout Patriots defense in Week 1, Brown racked up 7 catches for 79 yards, which included a 23-yard reception. It’s safe to say that this Vikings defense is not nearly on the same level as New England from a talent and schematic perspective. In last season’s meeting, Brown was targeted 8 times and had 69 receiving yards, and that game was a blowout where Philadelphia spent plenty of time running the ball and killing clock. Look for the Eagles’ best weapon to find the end zone against a familiar foe in this home opener.

T.J. Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings (+255)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Ever since he was traded to Minnesota during the 2022 season, T.J. Hockenson has been one of Kirk Cousins’ favorite targets. The Vikings tight end sparkled down the stretch and in the postseason, and his production continued into Week 1 as he finished with 9 targets and 8 receptions against the Buccaneers. The Eagles’ defense has been pretty susceptible to opposing tight ends last season and that trend continued with Hunter Henry grabbing a touchdown in Week 1. This Vikings passing attack is dynamic, with Justin Jefferson commanding a ton of attention from opposing defenses, and for good reason. With Jefferson and rookie Jordan Addison expected to garner most of the eyeballs from Philadelphia’s secondary, I’ll gladly take a shot on Hockenson at this price.
