The Christmas Eve primetime game pits the Las Vegas Raiders against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite frigid conditions in Pittsburgh, hopefully some touchdown scorers will be coming to town along with Santa. Although the over/under is set at a modest 38 for Saturday night, with 2 of the best running backs in the business on the field, there could be a decent amount of points scored.

With kickoff set for 8:15 pm ET on NFL Network, it’s time to take a look at the best touchdown scorer bets to be made.

Best Las Vegas Raiders touchdown scorer bet: Josh Jacobs, RB (+125)

When you can get Jacobs at plus money, it’s a steal regardless of the opponent. Jacobs has delivered at least 1 touchdown for the Raiders’ offense in 3 of the last 4 games and in 4 of the last 6. His hot streak includes a 2-TD performance in a 40-34 overtime win over Seattle, during which he also racked up 303 yards from scrimmage. He followed that up with 140 rushing yards against the Chargers. Also, don’t forget that Jacobs scored 3 times at Houston’s expense earlier this year and twice against Denver. The Alabama product has 11 rushing touchdowns in total for the 2022 campaign. Pittsburgh’s run defense is good and just dominated Carolina last week…but that’s Carolina. In Week 14, the Steelers watched the Ravens gash them on the ground to the tune of 215 yards and a TD. Count on Jacobs having yet another big day.

Best Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown scorer bet: Najee Harris, RB (+115)

Harris is another guy who has no business being in plus money. He has scored touchdowns in 4 of the last 5 games, with 5 in total during this stretch. Now the former Alabama standout – yes, another one! – faces a Las Vegas defense that has surrendered 15 rushing TDs this season (tied for the 9th most in the NFL). With conditions not exactly favorable for passing, Pittsburgh figures to keep the ball on the ground – that’s what it likes to do, anyway. There is no reason why Harris shouldn’t find the endzone on Saturday night.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer FAQs

What does “anytime touchdown scorer” mean?

Anytime touchdown scorer is a popular player prop bet that NFL bettors can wager on throughout the season. But what is it, and how do you win?

As the name suggests, placing a wager on the anytime touchdown scorer market is when you tip a particular player to score a touchdown during a game. This can be a rushing or receiving touchdown for an offensive player, or you can wager on a team’s defense/special teams to score a touchdown by interception return and fumble return or kickoff and punt returns.

If your player or defense scores a touchdown, you win! The odds will differ from player-to-player depending on the sportsbooks’ calculated probability of that player scoring.

Does anytime touchdown scorer include passing touchdowns?

Not for a quarterback, no. A player must get into the endzone, himself, in order to qualify as an anytime touchdown scorer. If a quarterback throws a touchdown pass, only the player who caught it counts as the scorer. If Joe Burrow throws a touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase, wagers placed on Evans as an anytime touchdown scorer will cash. However, those placed on Rodgers as an anytime touchdown scorer will not (unless he also runs for a TD). See below for more on what the anytime touchdown scorer market means for quarterbacks.

What does anytime touchdown scorer mean for a QB?

For a wager on a QB to be an anytime touchdown scorer to cash, he must follow the same rules as a running back, tight end, or receiver. He must get into the endzone himself, either as a runner or a pass-catcher.

In the age of the mobile quarterback, QBs such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Kyler Murray are often seen rushing in for a touchdown on any given Sunday. And don’t forget the occasional Philly Special, either. QBs can sometimes catch passes for TDs, too.
