This week’s edition of Sunday Night Football takes us to Green Bay for a battle between a couple of offenses that are trending up after strong showings last week. The Packers are suddenly in the NFC playoff chase while Patrick Mahomes the Kansas City Chiefs might’ve found a new star at wide receiver. Can the Chiefs stay hot and pick up another win? Or can Jordan Love pick up the biggest win of his young career?
I don’t have a prediction on the side for this matchup, but I do have a couple of touchdown scorer bets for the proceedings. Here are my touchdown scorer best bets for Sunday Night Football.
Don’t miss our Chiefs vs Packers predictions for Sunday Night Football
Kansas City Chiefs best touchdown scorer bet: Rashee Rice (+210)
I’m not sure if there’s better value on any player to find the end zone in this game than with Rashee Rice, who has scored a touchdown in 3 of the last 5 games, while racking up 29 targets in that span. The rookie wideout has 5 TDs in total on the season and has clearly been a beneficiary of being the primary reciever on Kansas City’s roster who can consistently catch the ball. So while teams are focusing on slowing down tight end Travis Kelce and what he does for this offense, there have been plenty of opportunities for Mahomes to target Rice in the red zone. I expect the SMU product to capitalize on these chances again in the form of a touchdown catch, especially against a Packers defense that is pretty average against the pass this season. Getting Rice at over 2/1 odds is a great bet.
Green Bay Packers best touchdown scorer bet: Romeo Doubs (+270)
It appears that Jayden Reed might not suit up for the Packers on Sunday night, which then turns the attention to Romeo Doubs as the main pass-catcher in this rapidly improving Green Bay offense. Doubs and Love already have an established connection this season, and its paid off once again this season as Doubs has quietly recorded 7 touchdowns on the year. While he only tallied 3 receptions for 37 yards against the Lions on Thanksgiving, the former Nevada wideout has a touchdown in 4 of the Packers’ last 6 games, including at Denver and at Pittsburgh (two strong defenses against the pass). This Chiefs defense is one of the best in football, but I still think a price of nearly 3/1 is too good to pass up for this bet.
