In what is sure to be one of the biggest games on the Week 11 NFL slate — especially from a playoff picture perspective — the Green Bay Packers will travel to Seattle for a date with the Seahawks in a pivotal primetime matchup for both teams on Sunday Night Football. The Packers are on their last legs in the NFC North race, while the Seahawks are looking to maintain the inside track for the NFC West title. The handicap on this game seems to be a solid spot to buy the Seahawks given a bit of market inflation toward Green Bay as a 3-point road favorite, but that’s not what I’ll be focusing on in this piece.
Be sure to also check out our Packers vs Seahawks predictions, but now let’s take a look at my favorite anytime touchdown scorer picks for this primetime game, which includes a wide receiver and running back.
Zach Charbonnet, RB, SEA (-125 at FanDuel)
It appears that Seattle running back Kenneth Walker will be out for this game with a lingering ankle/calf injury, which means that Zach Charbonnet will get a chance to build on his excellent performance a week ago. Charbonnet has long since proven himself as a capable starting running back in this league, and his 22 carries for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns against Arizona a week ago more than speaks for itself. He also hauled in a season-high 7 receptions, further demonstrating his versatility out of the backfield. The Seahawks are taking on a Packers defense that just allowed a pair of touchdowns to the Lions dynamic duo of running backs a week ago. And while Seattle isn’t nearly the team that Detroit is, this is still an offense that is playing its best football of the season over the last 5 weeks. Let’s back Charbonnet to find the end zone for a third straight game.
Jayden Reed, WR, GB (+230 at FanDuel)
The Seahawks defense has taken major strides over the last month under the tutelage of head coach Mike Macdonald. With that said, Seattle can still be had through the air, particularly when it comes to underneath routes and in the middle of the field. It just so happens that this is exactly where Packers wideout Jayden Reed likes to operate, and he’s seen success this season. Reed has recorded touchdowns in 5 games, including 2 of the last 4 contests, but he failed to record a catch last game for the first time all season. Given that his workload was extremely low in last week’s game, expect Jordan Love to concentrate on getting Reed the ball in space, where he can exploit mismatches against the Seattle safeties and slot corners. Given that Reed has nearly a 39% touchdown rate this season, it’s hard not to like the value we’re getting on his touchdown prop this week relative to the approximately 30% implied probability of these odds.
