Ladies and gentlemen, the 2023 NFL regular season is here! Week 1 is upon us; it started with Thursday Night Football between Detroit and Kansas City and it will wrap up with Buffalo visiting the Jets on Monday Night Football.
It’s an intriguing rivalry matchup in the AFC East between 2 high-profile teams. The Bills have been perennial Super Bowl contenders over the past few seasons and the Jets have dominated league headlines since acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers this past offseason.
Here are my best touchdown scorer bets for Monday’s showdown, and also make sure to check out our full Bills vs Jets picks.

Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills (+185 at DraftKings)
Getting Allen at +185 is quite simply a steal. He scored 5 touchdowns in the last 10 regular-season games of the 2022 campaign and also rushed for 1 in Buffalo’s divisional-round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Even more notable is that Allen’s rushing numbers against the Jets were amazing. The former Wyoming standout kept it himself 9 times for 86 yards 2 TDs in the first contest and then carried 10 times for 47 yards and 1 score in the head-to-head series finale. There is no reason to think that Allen can’t find the endzone himself in Week 1 of this year. His recent rapport with Stefon Diggs has been spotty at best, making the star signal-caller all the more likely to take matters into his own hands.

Allen Lazard, WR, New York Jets (+290 at DraftKings)
Expectations for Jets second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson are through the roof, but it would be fair to think that it might take a few games for him to gel with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The same goes for WR3 Mecole Hardman. Needless to say, there is no such acclimation period necessary for Lazard. He and Rodgers played together on the Green Bay Packers for 4 seasons and in 2022 the former Iowa State receiver racked up 788 yards and 6 touchdowns. He had 8 TDs in 2021. Buffalo allowed 21 scores through the air last year, which is a respectable number but not exactly dominant. With the Bills likely committing most of their attention to Wilson, this is a great opportunity – and at a great +290 price – for the Rodgers-to-Lazard connection to get off to a strong start in a new location.
