The Michael Penix Jr. era in Atlanta is in full effect. With a win in his first start last week against the Giants, he’ll look to defeat an even tougher opponent in the NFC East, the Washington Commanders, on Sunday Night Football.

Let’s get into my Falcons vs Commanders touchdown scorer best bets for SNF, while you can also find out our NFL picks on the side and total for this matchup and EVERY game throughout the 2024 season.

Falcons vs Commanders anytime touchdown scorer pick: Bijan Robinson (-120)

Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing

Bijan Robinson is a rookie quarterback’s best friend. He can take a screen pass to the house while also being able to carry an extensive workload and drive down the field. Robinson has an 18.5 rushing attempt line heading into Sunday Night, with the Falcons coming in as underdogs. The books expect a heavy dose of the sophomore who has been one of the best backs in football this season. We’re backing a juicy price for Robinson to score a touchdown, but he scored twice last week in Penix’s first career start while running the ball 7 times in the red zone — tying a career high.

Falcons vs Commanders anytime touchdown scorer pick: Zach Ertz (+310)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Along with explosive running backs being a rookie quarterback’s best friend, so is a veteran tight end who acts as a security blanket. Jayden Daniels has revitalized Zach Ertz’s long career in his 1st season in Washington. He’s scored 4 times this season, and with one more touchdown, it would be his most in a season since 2019, when he made the Pro Bowl.

Ertz dealt with a plethora of injuries heading into last week’s homecoming to Philadelphia. He played 71% of the snaps but was targeted just 2 times. Heading into Sunday Night, Ertz was a full participant in his last practice and will be ready to shine for a crucial game in terms of playoff seeding. The Commanders are still alive in the NFC East, though unlikely to win. But a win clinches a wild-card berth, which would be the team’s first time in the playoffs since 2020.
