The Jags are coming off their bye while the Ravens beat the Panthers, but didn’t look like world-beaters doing it. Baltimore struggled with Carolina for much of a game that was tied 3-3 late, and they won as 13-point favorites only because Baker Mayfield couldn’t get anything going. Our expert believes that Jacksonville’s defense should have a good plan in place to slow down Lamar Jackson and company, so let’s get into their predictions.

We’ve got 2 standout NFL picks for this clash between the Ravens and Jaguars.
Ravens vs Jaguars point spread pick: Jaguars +4 (-110)
I’ve been concerned about this Ravens offense for a while. Their third-down passing game isn’t any good, and Lamar Jackson doesn’t have many weapons at his disposal. The Jaguars have been one of the unluckiest teams in the NFL, and there’s no reason for the Ravens to be a large road favorite. I haven’t been impressed by any of Baltimore’s wins, while the Jags are being underrated by the market.
Jacksonville has lost a bunch of close games, with 6 of their 7 defeats coming by one score. The only game they lost by more than one possession was on the road at the Chiefs by 10. Travis Etienne is starting to break out, and Christian Kirk is coming off a 105-yard 2-touchdown game. The Ravens’ 7-3 record has patched everything up for the time being, but there are a lot of issues simmering beneath the surface. They’ve played a pretty soft schedule recently, and I think some of those issues get exposed. Getting more than a field goal with a Jags team that has played much better at home this year is too good to pass up.

Ravens vs Jaguars Over/Under totals pick: Under 43.5 (-110)
The under makes a lot of sense in this spot. For starters, Jacksonville’s defense takes a massive step up at home. In 5 home games this season, the Jags are giving up an average of only 15.4 points per contest. And you can’t really blame them too much for struggling on the road against the Chiefs last week. I don’t know of any team slowing down Patrick Mahomes right now.
The Ravens have been winning games more due to their defense than their offense, and they’ve given up only 16 total points over the last 2 weeks. Their pass-rush has been heating up, and the trade deadline acquisition of linebacker Roquan Smith is already paying dividends. Smith had a sack and a tackle for loss last Sunday, and he’s been flying all over the field in his first 2 games with Baltimore.
