Second-round action at the Australian Open gets underway on Wednesday, when the bottom half of the men’s draw and the top side in the women’s bracket return to the court. Among those headlining the schedule of play are Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff. Let’s dive into my Australian Open Day 4 best bets, while you can also find out our Australian Open Men’s Singles Winner predictions and Australian Open Women’s Singles Winner picks for the futures markets.
Parlay: Benjamin Bonzi ML over Francesco Passaro and Felix Auger-Aliassime ML over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (-133)
These are 2 guys – Benjamin Bonzi and Felix Auger-Aliassime – you have to feel good about backing right now. Bonzi is absolutely on fire these days. He compiled a 22-1 record in his last 23 matches of the 2024 campaign (Challenger level included) and is 7-2 this year (qualifying matches included) after routing David Goffin in the Aussie Open first round. His next opponent lost in qualifying before getting a lucky-loser spot in the main draw followed by a retirement from Grigor Dimitrov. Francesco Passaro is 7-13 lifetime at the ATP level, so this should be a walk in the park for the Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime is almost as hot as Bonzi. The Canadian owns a 6-1 record this season with a title in Adelaide and wins over the #4 player in the world (Taylor Fritz) and the #12 player (Tommy Paul). He is also 4-0 in the head-to-head series against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. All signs point to Auger-Aliassime keeping the train rolling on Wednesday.
Harriet Dart +5.5 games over Donna Vekic (-140)
Like Passaro, Harriet Dart needed a lucky-loser place in the main draw of this event. However, her prospects are much brighter in round 2. The Brit posted some decent qualifying wins before falling in the final round and she is coming off a decent first-round victory over Jana Fett on Monday.
Speaking of being lucky, facing Donna Vekic in the round of 64 looks like an absolute dream draw. The Swiss played well in 2024 but is off to a rough start this year with a 1-3 record. She has won a total of 3 matches since the US Open last summer. It also doesn’t help that her coach, former WTA player Pam Shriver, is back at home in Los Angeles dealing with the fire disaster – unable to make the trip to Australia. Dart dominated their only previous meeting (Nottingham in 2022) and has a good chance to win this one outright, as well.

Aleksandar Vukic +5.5 games over Sebastian Korda (-130)
I have no faith in Sebastian Korda this fortnight despite a solid performance last week in Adelaide (finished runner-up to Auger-Aliassime). The American’s history at Grand Slams is mostly underwhelming and he did not look 100 percent physically during a tough first-round victory over Lukas Klein on Monday. In fact, Korda won just 1 more game than his opponent in that match. Moreover, Vukic is playing at home in Australia and won his only previous encounter with Korda (2023 in Toronto). That should give Vukic a lot of confidence.
