March Madness is right around the corner, but before we can get to the big dance, the teams have to fight through their conference tournaments. The ACC basketball tournament runs from Tuesday, March 7 to Saturday, March 11, and it will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The winner of the ACC tournament is automatically placed into the Round of 64 for March Madness. But there are several teams that are expected to get an at-large bid and be invited to the tournament, even without winning the ACC title. We’ve provided the odds for each team to win the ACC title as well as our best bet for the tournament.
DraftKings Sportsbook is currently giving new customers $150 in bonus bets if their team wins when they sign up now and bet $5. That’s all there is to it! Grab this amazing sign-up offer by clicking this link.
ACC Basketball Tournament Preview
The ACC basketball standings finished with the Miami Hurricanes at the top. Because of the rough start to the season for Duke and the bad end to the season for Virginia, Miami was able to lock up the #1 seed for the tournament. Virginia earned the #2 seed, Clemson received the #3 seed and Duke got the #4 seed. That means none of those 4 teams will take the court until the quarterfinals.
Duke is the hottest team entering the ACC tournament as the Blue Devils have won 6 games in a row and are the favorite to win the ACC title. They struggled at the beginning of the year but found their rhythm after a few weeks and looked like a well-oiled machine now. Virginia had some shocking losses towards the end of the season and some close games with several very bad basketball teams. But all that is in the past, as each team is guaranteed only one more game.

ACC Basketball Tournament Best Bet: Miami (+340)
It was slightly surprising to see Miami not listed as either the favorite or second favorite to win the ACC title. The Hurricanes finished their regular season by winning 8 of their final 9 games, with their only loss coming against Florida State. That’s a game they would like to put behind them, as they were winning 54-31 at halftime and collapsed in the second half. That was one of their 5 conference losses, and Miami finished 15-5 in conference and 24-6 overall, which was the best record in the ACC. The Canes proved that they are one of the most disciplined and consistent teams in the conference, as they beat nearly every team in the ACC.
Their only losses in conference were to Georgia Tech (an ugly, yet teachable loss), NC State by 2, Duke by 2, Pitt by 3 and Florida State by 1. As you can tell, Miami was never blown out. No team could get a lead against Miami and turn it into a big win, as the Hurricanes’ excellent offense wouldn’t just roll over. When they went down, they refused to settle for bad shots. They continued to play their style of basketball and did not compromise that, no matter the score. They have exceptional value at over 3/1 odds to win the ACC, but regardless of the result of the tournament, I expect to see the Hurricanes in March Madness.
