5 things to watch in Week 11 of the 2019 NFL Season

Carson Wentz playing quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles

The NFL season rolls on and things are heating up, as teams continue to find their place in the standings. Another great NFL slate in week 11, will start to show the true contenders. Some physical drama sure played out at the end of the Steelers and Browns Thursday Night Football match-up. Much more craziness is sure to be ahead, and we have all the biggest storylines. Another must-see week of NFL action. Here are the 5 things to watch in week 11.

Deshaun Watson versus Lamar Jackson

In what should be one of the most exciting quarterback duels of the 2019 season, the Texans and Ravens square off. This should be a thrilling match-up as Deshaun Watson will face-off against Lamar Jackson. Full of intrigue, but also should be a closely contested game. Jackson has found his way into the MVP conversation, will be tested by one of the most talented Quarterbacks in the league.

Neither team has that stellar of defense, so this game could be a back and forth high scoring match-up. A lot of points could be scored, and that makes this one of the most intriguing games of the season.

Can Famous Jameis dethrone Drew Brees and the Saints?

The Saints are coming off a gut-wrenching loss to a terrible Falcons team. New Orleans will need to get back on track rather quickly with an unpredictable Buccaneers team up next. A loss to Tampa could really knock the wind out of the sails for Drew Brees and company. Brees went without a touchdown in the loss to Atlanta. A big game from Brees should be expected, but Bucs’ coach Bruce Arians will need Jameis Winston to play at a high level if Tampa wants to knock off the Saints. All eyes will be on Drew Brees.

What will the LA Chargers look like on Monday Night?

That past couple of seasons, the Chargers have been a team to almost fear in the month of November. The Chargers have started this season at a slow pace and will need to really make a charge if they want to make it back to the NFL playoffs. They will get a huge opportunity to get back on track with a huge Monday Night Football match-up against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. A win will put Los Angeles at 5-6 on the season, which isn’t out of the running as the AFC has been beating up on each other all season. The AFC West can get really crazy if the Chargers can get the win on Monday night. It’s in Mexico City, which could bring a whole nother feel to the game. It should be a great match-up in week 11.

How will the Lions fair without their leader?

The Lions have had a rough couple weeks, as they have come up short in four of their last five games. They will also be without their star quarterback Matthew Stafford for the second consecutive week. His back injury looks to be something that could keep him out the rest of the season. The road doesn’t get any easier for an already struggling 3-5-1 team. The Dallas Cowboys visit Ford Field on Sunday, and this is a must-win for either team, as Dallas has slipped to 5-4 and is near the brink of falling out of the lead in the NFC East. Detroit will have to rely heavily on Jeff Driskel who gave the Lions every chance they had to win against Chicago in week 10. Will this team be able to overcome the adversity? Time will tell.

A Super Bowl rematch for the ages

The Patriots and Eagles will meet on the field at Lincoln Financial for a huge clash. The 8-1 Patriots are coming off a bye and will be looking to rebound from their first loss of the season in week 9 against Baltimore. Philadelphia sits at 5-4 and will be looking for an important resume victory that could help put them ahead of the Cowboys. The success of the Vikings and Seahawks kind of limits the Eagles’ chances of sneaking in, and forcing them to have to win the NFC East. A win on Sunday afternoon could go along way for those chances. Plenty of interesting games, but this could be the one that has the most impact on the playoff race.
