The second set of group games begins at the World Cup on Friday, and the USMNT is back on the field in Qatar for a big game against England.

Let’s check out the reasoning behind each of our selections:
Wales vs Iran: Under 2.5 goals (-180) – 5:00am ET
Iran allowed 6 goals against England and yet we’re going under the 2.5 goal line? Well, yes, because Wales isn’t England, the team that ruined Iran’s World Cup opener by winning 6-2 in the teams’ Group B opener on Monday. And Wales, as USMNT fans will have seen on Monday, is not much of a threat either.
Gareth Bale saved Wales against Gregg Berhalter’s men on Monday in a game that ended tied at 1-1, but other than their LAFC star the Welsh look limited and Iran should find defending easier in this game.

Qatar vs Senegal: Senegal ML (-155) – 8:00am ET
You have to have a bit of sympathy for Africa’s champion team Senegal. Superstar Sadio Mane was injured on the eve of the finals but it was still able to make the well-fancied Netherlands team look pretty ordinary in its Group A opener before allowing 2 late goals. What they need is a chance to bounce back and Qatar should provide that.
The host nation really didn’t impress when losing 2-0 to Ecuador in the first game of the competition and even allowing for some improvement Qatar should still be second-best to a decent Senegal team.

Netherlands vs Ecuador: Both teams to score – Yes (-110) – 11:00am ET
The second Group A showdown of the day features round one’s winning teams and promises to be a lively encounter. The Dutch were slow to get going against Senegal but have enough decent forwards with Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo to suggest they’ll be more of an offensive threat this time.
And Ecuador’s players did their nation proud against Qatar on Sunday, winning 2-0 in a game they could have won by a much wider margin. We’ll take both teams to score when they meet on Friday.

England vs USA: England ML (-175) – 2:00pm ET
While the USMNT looked good for 45 minutes against Wales on Monday, England looked super-slick for the full 90 against Iran. Tim Ream and Walker Zimmerman were eventually given a decent workout by giant striker Kieffer Moore but it’s England’s little guys, the pacy Raheem Sterling, Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish, who are likely to be asking all the questions at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Gregg Berhalter’s much-prized midfield dictated terms against Wales but England’s duo of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham is a step up in class again and Christian Pulisic won’t be finding anything like the space he enjoyed on Monday. The U.S. looked decent enough against Wales, much better than some of their critics had anticipated after a rocky build-up, but Euro 2020 finalist England is on another level.
