It’s the most exciting time of the year in College Baseball. After a long and grueling season, only 8 D1 teams are left standing. These teams will travel to the iconic Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, for the College Baseball World Series. The CWS is held in Omaha every year and has become a must-visit event for all baseball fanatics. The first game of the 2-week tournament starts on Friday, June 14, so let’s not waste any more time and dive into the odds, betting preview, and my College World Series best bet to win it all this year in Omaha.

College Baseball World Series Odds

Below are the odds for the College Baseball World Series, courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Tennessee (+250)
  • Texas A&M (+350)
  • Kentucky (+470)
  • North Carolina (+650)
  • Florida State (+850)
  • Virginia (+1000)
  • NC State (+1100)
  • Florida (+1300)

Florida and North Carolina are well represented in this trip to Omaha as half of the teams come from those 2 states. Besides them, there are plenty of powerhouse baseball schools ready to make a run for the National Title. Texas A&M and Tennessee enter the tournament as the favorites at Caesars Sportsbook which isn’t much of a surprise since both teams have explosive lineups, but more importantly, fantastic pitching. In fact, Texas A&M and Tennessee are the only 2 teams of the remaining 8 that ranked in the top 14 in the country in team ERA.

If you’re looking for a dangerous offense that can score runs in bunches, look no further than Virginia, Florida State and Florida. The Cavaliers finished 2nd in the nation in team batting average while the 2 Florida programs finished in the top 10 in home runs. Each team has its own strength, but the key to success in Omaha is limiting weaknesses. After considering the last 2 weeks of play, the odds and the path to the Finals, I’ve found my best bet for the College Baseball World Series.

College Baseball World Series Predictions

Before we choose a winner, it’s important to know how the tournament works. It’s a double-elimination format that has 2 brackets with 4 teams in each. The official bracket was released a few days ago, and on one side of the bracket is Tennessee, Florida State, North Carolina and Virginia. That leaves Texas A&M, Kentucky, NC State and Florida on the other side. Teams should expect to play nearly every day — especially if they lose. It’s common for a team to have to play 2 games in 3 days, 3 games in 4 days, or even 4 games in 5 days. That means pitching will be more important than ever.

College Baseball World Series Best Bet: Texas A&M (+350)

In 2023, I sided with Wake Forest to win it all. Wake was the #1 team in the country and appeared to have the best pitching rotation and lineup of any team, but Omaha wasn’t kind to the Demon Deacons. The reason I mention that is because everything on paper and what I watched this season tells me to pick Tennessee. Ranking 3rd in ERA and 1st in home runs, the Vols seem to have everything for a National Title. However, it’s been a curse to be a #1 seed in Omaha. So while Tennessee may be worth a few bucks just to be safe, I’m pivoting to a different team.

Texas A&M might be just as dangerous as Tennessee. The Aggies went 49-13 this season and their offense is red-hot entering the tournament. In the Super Regionals, the Aggies scored 25 runs in just 2 games. The Texas A&M lineup has plenty of MLB talent, including Braden Montgomery, who suffered a season-ending injury just a few days ago. Even without Montgomery, the Aggies have an incredibly balanced lineup that is filled with contact and power hitters. Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovac are threats to leave the yard each time they go up, and the rest of the lineup has several .300 hitters and plenty of speed.

A dangerous lineup is always important, but for Omaha, pitching is do-or-die. Fortunately for Texas A&M, they ranked 6th in the nation in ERA. The Aggies had 3 pitchers record at least 12 starts this season, but Texas A&M has taken a page out of the Tampa Bay Rays’ playbook as they frequently use an opener. The Aggies bullpen might be their greatest strength, and that should play well in Omaha. My College Baseball World Series best bet is on Texas A&M to be the next National Champion at +350 odds.
