The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics continues with a whole host of great action, and we’ve got a great bet for you in the men’s Alpine downhill skiing. Let’s dive in.

2022 Winter Olympics Men’s Alpine Downhill Skiing best bets

Norway has enjoyed a strong start to the medal events in Beijing and hopes will be high that the Vikings can grab another gold in one of the Winter Olympics’ blue riband events, the men’s Alpine downhill, at 10:00 pm ET.

The Norwegian team picked up a 1-2 in the event at Pyeongchang in 2018, and this time Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is the man to beat in Alpine skiing’s fastest discipline.

Kilde, the 2020 World Cup overall champion and boyfriend of US superstar Mikaela Shiffrin, currently leads the downhill World Cup standings after three wins from eight races this season.

The 29-year-old set the fastest time in training and was one of only three skiers to tackle the course on Saturday morning’s final sighting run before it was cancelled due to high winds. That could be significant as the Yanqing hill is unfamiliar territory for the World Cup racers.

Odds of +230 look perfectly acceptable for Kilde, who is surely the most likely winner. Those seeking value are pointed towards Vincent Kriechmayr at +850. The Austrian took gold in both the downhill and super-G races at the 2021 World Championships — an event Kilde missed through injury.

An Olympic legend takes to the ice in the early hours of Sunday morning as Sven Kramer goes for a fourth consecutive 5,000m speed skating gold.

The 35-year-old Dutchman was selected for the national team more for his value in the team events, however, and odds of +1500 reflect his chance.
