After their delayed Winter Olympic downhill race was run on Sunday instead of Saturday, the male Alpine skiers are quickly back in action on the Yanqing piste for the super-G on Monday night US time (10:00 pm ET).

Swiss racer Beat Feuz claimed his first Olympic gold in the downhill and picked up silver in super-G 4 years ago in Korea. However, the 34-year-old is very much a downhill specialist these days, having gained all of his last 17 World Cup podiums in the fastest discipline.

It was a bad day for Alpine skiing’s golden couple as Aleksander Aamodt Kilde finished a disappointing 5th in the men’s downhill before Mikaela Shiffrin failed to complete the first run while attempting to defend her Olympic women’s giant slalom title.

Men’s giant slalom best bet: Matthias Meyer (+750)

Kilde lacked the tidiness he had shown in the training runs when finishing 5th, half a second off Feuz, in the downhill. The Norwegian has won 3 of the 5 World Cup super-G races this year and heads the market at +175 for this event along with overall World Cup leader Marco Odermatt (+185).

There is no great value in those odds, and a better play could be to support 2018 Olympic super-G hero Matthias Meyer at +750 odds. He has 3 podiums in the discipline on the World Cup tour this year and picked up the bronze medal in Sunday’s downhill, just 0.16 seconds away from gold.

Winter Olympics women’s ice hockey best bet: Under 4.5 goals in USA vs Canada (+114)

The United States and Canada have both secured their places in the women’s hockey quarter-finals and after obliterating the other 3 teams in their group they face off tonight (11:10pm ET) in what should be a dress-rehearsal for the gold-medal game. Canada has looked slightly stronger offensively, while the American team has allowed only 2 goals, compared to Canada’s 3.

Of the teams’ last 6 meetings, 4 have had no more than 4 goals scored in regulation time, and going under 4.5 at +114 looks the best play in a game that both teams will likely treat as a fact-finding mission.
