The 2022 Winter Olympics gets underway early Wednesday morning US time, two days before the opening ceremony in Beijing.

During the course of the 19-day extravaganza, 109 events will be staged on snow and ice, mountain and rink and Team USA is +120 to bring home at least 10 gold medals.

2022 Winter Olympics Curling Mixed Doubles best bets

The action begins in the Ice Cube Arena (formerly the Water Cube when it hosted the 2008 Olympic swimming competitions) with the curling mixed doubles, starting at 7:05 am ET. US pair Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys take on Australians Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt in one of four matchups beginning at that time. Team USA is +900 to win the mixed curling gold medal, while Australia is the outsider of the field at +5000 to win it with DraftKings Sportsbook.

Persinger and Plys earned their spot on the team at a qualifying event in the Netherlands in December and are favorites to make a winning start against Australia. Team USA should have enough ability to defeat Australia in that opening matchup before a clash with Italy at 8:05pm ET in their second round-robin game.

Canada won the inaugural Olympic curling mixed doubles in 2018 and they are +250 favorites to repeat that feat, while Great Britain is second-favorite at +300.
