2020 NFL Predictions: Super Bowl LV Picks

Patrick Mahomes Celebrating

There are tons of different NFL futures bets you can make these days, but nothing will beat the classic Super Bowl wager. It’s the biggest game in all of sports except maybe the World Cup final every four years, and nothing is better than rooting a team on for an entire football season. There are a few opportunities for value, and below we’ll be breaking down our favorite bets.

Kansas City Chiefs +600

Kansas City won it all last year, and we think they’ve got a great chance to run it back. They kept almost all of their key guys from that team, Patrick Mahomes has another year of experience under his belt, and they just added the Offensive Rookie of the Year second favorite Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the running back out of LSU, in the first round of the draft. The defense made major strides in 2019, and it should take another step forward now that they’ve had a full year together. Head coach Andy Reid gives them a schematic advantage over just about every opponent, and they’re a virtual lock to win the AFC South. Barring an injury to Mahomes, it’d be shocking if they don’t at least make a deep playoff run.

Dallas Cowboys +1500

As for the NFC, this Dallas team has a ton of upside. New head coach Mike McCarthy surely reflected a lot in his year away from the game, and we think he’ll come back with a more modern analytical approach. He’ll also be inheriting a stacked roster. After adding CeeDee Lamb in the first-round of the draft the Cowboys have an elite receiving trio, and they still have a great offensive line as well as Ezekiel Elliott. They already had a lot of talent on defense, and then they added Dontari Poe and Everson Griffen to play next to Demarcus Lawrence on the defensive line. If the defense can contribute, the Cowboys are in with a real shot.

Indianapolis Colts +2200

Philip Rivers, quarterback

The Colts should be primed for a huge leap in 2020. Most of their 2019 struggles were due to poor quarterback play from Jacoby Brissett, and Philip Rivers presents a massive upgrade. Rivers had a down 2019 due to a shoddy offensive line, but he was playing at an MVP level in 2018. This will be the best offensive line he’s had in his entire career, and the best coaching staff in quite a while. The Colts have some great young playmakers on defense, and arguably the easiest schedule in the entire NFL. They are the favorites in the AFC South and are set up well for the postseason.

Los Angeles Rams +4000

The Rams make a ton of sense as a value play. This team was just in the Super Bowl two years ago, and even in a ‘down’ 2019 it still won nine games. Now the Rams have a full season of stud corner Jalen Ramsey, and Jared Goff will likely play much better this season. They still have one of the best coaches in the league, and the path in the NFC is much easier than it is in the AFC. With Ramsey and Aaron Donald they’ve got two of the best defensive players in the league, so sleep on this team at your own peril.
