With the NFL off-season well underway it’s time to start looking at the win predictions for each team for next year. Let’s breakdown the Win Total Predictions for AFC South and see which bets would be the best to place before the start of the season.
Houston Texans 8.5
Last year the Houston Texans finished with an 11-5 record but Vegas is seeing a regression setting the total at only 8.5 wins this year. The team still has Deshaun Watson and I expect he will take another big step forward this year. The big question surrounding this team is just how well will the offensive line do. Watson was hit way too much last year and it’s almost amazing he didn’t suffer another injury last year.
Even if the offensive line does struggle this year, I think that this team will finish over the total of 8.5. I am not sure that they will win the division because the Colts are also here but this is still a playoff team.
Indianapolis Colts 9.5
Let’s just start out by saying this, they got this number really wrong and you need to jump out early on this one and take the over because this number is probably going to climb.
This is a team that finished with ten wins last year and that was in his first year back from major neck surgery. They also added Justin Houston this offseason and they still have more money they could spend. The Colts are going to have one of the best offenses in the league and this is a team that could actually have the best record in football, even in a tough division.
Tennessee Titans 8.5
Last year the Titans finished with a 9-7 record but I don’t think they get close to that number this year. I am not sold Marcus Mariota is the answer for this team and the offense just isn’t dynamic enough.
The defense is decent but it’s not something the team can just lean on game in and game out. This is also going to be a tough division and they might only get two wins total against the other three teams which means to reach the total they are going to have to be extra special against everyone else. I think this team has a better chance of finishing with three or four wins then they do of finishing with nine or ten wins. Back the under with this team.
Jacksonville Jaguars 8
The top three teams I am pretty confident with how they will perform, but that isn’t the case with the Jaguars because Nick Foles is such a wild card. He really hasn’t had a ton of success anywhere but Philly and there are big questions about how he will do. If he can just be solid this team can make the playoffs but if he struggles there is a chance that they could finish with five wins like they did last year. If I have to give a lean the play is with the over, but it’s a play I would stay away from.
