When the Oakland Raiders traded Khalil Mack right before the season started most knew exactly what the season would turn out like for the team and it stayed right on course. They struggled all season finishing with only four wins and they just didn’t look like a team. A lot of individuals playing football but not many playing with a team aspect. As disappointing of a season as it was it can still be a good betting season if a team covers spreads and that’s what’s important for individuals laying money on the line every Sunday. Let’s breakdown the Oakland Raiders Betting Recap for the 2018 season.
Oakland Raiders Against The Spread
The season was bad straight up for the Raiders and it wasn’t much better against the spread. On the season the Raiders were only 6-10 against the spread. At home they were an even 4-4 against the spread but on the road they really struggled going 2-6. In Oakland the home field advantage is still strong, even with the team leaving so it makes a lot of sense that is where they would be better against the spread.
On grass they were 6-8 against the spread and on turf they only played two games but they failed to cover the spread in each of the games.
Oakland Raiders Over Under
On the season the over was the play six times, the under was the play nine times, and it was a push one time. At home the over was the play three times and the under was the play five times. Away from home the under was the play four times, the over was the play three times and the other game was the push.
On grass the under was the play nine times and the over was the play five times. On turf the over was the play in one game and the other one was a push.
2019-20 odds
Most believe it will be another down year for the Oakland Raiders next year, and it shows with the Super Bowl odds. The odds are 100/1 that the Raiders will win the Super Bowl which is third worst in the NFL. Only the Washington Redskins and the Miami Dolphins have odds. For the AFC the Raiders have 60/1 odds to win it and advance to the Super Bowl which is tied for second worse only ahead of the Miami Dolphins.
2019-20 outlook
To say the outlook is not good might be an understatement at least for next season. Building through the draft is going to be how this team rebuilds so it’s going to be a long process and it all starts with who they want to be at quarterback.
All the talk is that Derek Carr is still the quarterback of the future but he really needs to prove something this upcoming year to keep the job. Jon Gruden still has a lot of work to do to get this team to take a next step forward but sorry Raiders fans, it’s going to be another trying year.
