Coming into the 2018-19 season the expectation was that Case Keenum would be the missing piece that the team needed to get back over the hump and get back into the playoffs. The team found out very early on that Keenum had gone back to his old ways and the team really struggled. They finished the season with a 6-10 record and weren’t ever really in the playoff race. The big question for bettors though wasn’t about what their final record was, rather did they make a person money by betting on them? Let’s take a look at the Denver Broncos Betting Recap for this 2018 season.

Broncos Against The Spread

The simple answer to the question above is no, unless you were betting against the Broncos. Not only did the Broncos struggle to win games, they also struggled to cover spreads. On the season they 6-9-1 against the spread. At home is where they really struggled going 2-5-1 against the spread. On the road they were better going 4-4 against the spread but that wasn’t enough to make money. On grass this season the Broncos were 5-7-1 against the spread and on turf were 1-2 against the spread.

Broncos Over/Under

The Broncos offense led by Keenum really struggled to score points, which meant that the play most of the year was with the under. Overall on the season the under was the 12 times, the over was the play three times, and there was one time it was a push.

At home the play was the under was the play in seven of the eight games Away from home the under was the play in five of the eight games. On grass the under was the play in ten of the 13 games, and on turf the under was the play in two of the three games. These stats are actually a bit surprising because Vegas was trying to make up for the struggles of Keenum and the under still ended up being the play all those times.

Super Bowl Outlook

As bad as the season was, Vegas doesn’t think much next year is going to be any better. They currently have some of the worst odds in the NFL. They currently sit with 100/1 odds which is the 3rd worst in the NFL. Only the Washington Redskins and the Miami Dolphins have worse odds to win the Super Bowl. To win the AFC the odds are a bit better coming in at 25/1 which is right around the middle of the pack in the AFC.

Season Preview

Just a few weeks ago it looked like Case Keenum would be the quarterback for next year for the Broncos but with the trade for Joe Flacco it looks like the team is going to go in a different direction.

The big question going into next season now is what Flacco will show up? Will it be the one who led the Ravens to the Super Bowl or the one that underperformed the last few years. The answer to that question will decide if this is a playoff team or one who struggles to win five games.
