The NFL heads into week 13 quickly, and here is the injury report heading into the week. Make sure to check back to see any updated news on these important players that will play an impact in their games. Here is the officially NFL Injury Report.
Melvin Gordon – Los Angeles Chargers
Gordon suffered a right knee injury, early in the second half of the Chargers game against the Arizona Cardinals. It is feared that Gordon injured his MCL. It is a real possibility the Chargers will be without one of their biggest offensive weapons as the hit the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gordon already missed a game this season with a hamstring injury. If Gordon is out then the Chargers will have to turn to a running back by committee situation with backs Austin Ekeler starting and rookies Justin Jackson and Detrez Newsome. Make sure to check back especially on Gordon if he plays on our NFL Injury Report.
Andy Dalton – Cincinnati Bengals
Dalton the Bengals loss to the Browns with a right thumb injury. Head coach Marvin Lewis has said that there wasn’t any long-term damage, but that doesn’t mean Dalton will be set to go on Sunday. Jeff Driskel looked alright in Dalton’s absence. Dalton joins the long list of injuries the Bengals have gone through this season. Dalton has been placed on IR so, the Bengals will have to turn to Jeff Driskel under center.
Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders
Carr sprained his right ankle, that had already been surgically repaired in the past during the Raiders loss to the Ravens this past Sunday. He returned to action during the game but didn’t look comfortable as he looked like he was hurting, as he was walking with a heavy limp. He said he should be good to go against the Chiefs, but he could be in trouble if he doesn’t stay protected against a tough Chiefs defense.
Kenyan Drake – Miami Dolphins
Frake left the Dolphins game with an injured shoulder but did return. He was seen with a large ice pack on his shoulder following the game. Drake splits carries with veteran Frank Gore, and the Dolphins should be okay if Drake has to miss any time.
Andrew Norwell – Jacksonville Jaguars
The one thing the Jaguars couldn’t afford to have happened did in their loss to Buffalo. As Andrew Norwell went down in the second half with an ankle injury. Jacksonville was down to only two week one starters on their offensive line. The Jags have been devastated by injuries up front and all over their team, and it has been a season to forget for last season’s AFC runner-ups. Jacksonville is looking for answers all across the board.
Donte Jackson – Carolina Panthers
Jackson suffered a quad injury on the first play of the game and did not return. Corn Elder and Captain Munnerlyn struggled as they tried to replace the rookie corner. It doesn’t look like Jackson will be ready to go this week. Elder and Munnerlyn will have to step up for Carolina, who have lost their last two games.
Jimmie Ward – San Francisco 49ers
Free safety Ward suffered a broken forearm for the second consecutive year, an injury that will again end his season early. Ward, the No. 30 overall pick in 2014, now heads into free agency and could be avoided due to his injury history.
Xavier Rhodes – Minnesota Vikings
Rhodes suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg, in the fourth quarter and did not return. He may miss a significant amount of time.
