Texas Rangers vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction, Odds and Picks for Wednesday, 04/02/25

The Texas Rangers requested a long outing from right-hander Nathan Eovaldi Tuesday night, and the veteran starter delivered with a complete game shutout in a 1-0 Rangers victory. It was a struggle offensively for both clubs with cool temperatures and slight wind blowing in, and I am excited to see how they bounce back in Wednesday’s game. Texas will start Jack Leiter for his 2nd appearance of the season after allowing just 1 earned run allowed to Boston in his season debut. He faces a Reds lineup that has only shown life once in their first 5 games, and I expect a decent effort from the young starter. Behind him is a well-rested bullpen thanks to Eovaldi’s efforts on Tuesday.

Hunter Greene is my favorite Reds starter to bet on, and his talent is clear when watching him pitch. I do think he is being a bit overvalued in the market, however, as Texas should be a closer to even money than the +114-price available at time of publishing. Greene can be dominant, but he can also be erratic at times and his career statistics are far worse when pitching in Great American Ballpark. Wednesday’s weather should be better for hitting than Tuesdays was, and I expect the Rangers to snag another road victory in this matchup.
