Pittsburgh Pirates vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 04/27/25

It’s time for some Sunday baseball as the Pirates get set to take on the Dodgers in this rubber match game. Last night the Dodgers had a massive eighth inning with Teoscar Hernandez hitting a solo blast, and Enrique Hernandez hitting a 3-run homer to help lift the Dodgers to a 8-4 victory. Tyler Glasnow is expected to start this game against the Pirates after leaving his last start with lower leg cramps. That is good news for the Dodgers as they have a long list of starters on the injured list so far this season. Looking into today’s Pirates vs Dodgers prediction, the Dodgers enter this game as massive favorites, which I can’t say I’m the least bit surprised given the talent they have on their team. 

It’s been a long seven years since he last played for the Pirates, but Tyler Glasnow is set to take the mound against his former team, looking to secure his second win of the season. Glasnow has had his ups and downs this season, but through four starts, Glasnow is 1-0 with a 3.71 ERA, striking out 23 in 17 innings pitched. Bailey Falter will get the start for the Pirates who is 1-2 with a 5.19 ERA. The Dodgers have struggled against lefties this season, hitting just .220 as a team, but Falter hasn’t been sharp – and he’s 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA in his career against the Dodgers. The one player Falter has to be careful pitching to is Teoscar Hernandez, who’s crushing lefties this season with a .481 average and an OPS of 1.537. While I don’t usually like backing such heavy favorites, the Pirates offense has been one of the leagues worst, ranking 28th in OPS (.639) this season. Look for the Dodgers to roll in this game and secure a series win, making the Dodgers run line my best bet of the day.
