New York Yankees vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/05/25

The Yankees took care of business on Friday against the Pirates, winning by a final score of 9-4. Aaron Judge kept his hot streak going, crushing his 6th home of the season and 2 RBIs. On the season, the Yankees are 1st in the league in homers (23), OPS (.997), SLG (.621) and runs per game at 8.8. This Yankees team is well-rounded on offense and it will be tough for any pitcher to face them right now. The Pirates will be sending the lefty Bailey Falter to the mound in hopes to slow down the Yankees offense, but will he have what it takes? Bailey Falter had a no-decision in his last outing against the Marlins, throwing 6 innings and giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits. As for the Yankees, Marcus Stroman didn’t pitch long enough to earn the win in his last start, throwing 4.2 innings and giving up 5 hits and 3 earned runs against the Brewers. Stroman can be hit or miss when taking the mound, but the one advantage he has on Saturday is he’ll be facing a Pittsburgh team that is struggling to hit the ball as they’re batting just .204 on the season. While Stroman may give up a few runs, the Yankees have been dominant against left-handed pitching this year batting .310 compared to last year .235. Overall, I can’t find any reason to side with Pittsburgh in this matchup and I think the Yankees will have no issues taking game two in this series, making the Yankees money line my best bet of the day.
