With several games out west on Tuesday night, there is plenty of late-night action available to us, including the Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants. The Giants took the series opener last night by a score of 5-2. The Giants began the season hot, but they have leveled off since. They are mostly dependent on what has thus far been an elite bullpen. The Brewers have to win with their bats. I’m looking for some scoring tonight, at least relative to this stingy ballpark, and my Brewers vs Giants pick is the game total Over 7.5.

The pitching matchup is Jose Quintana vs Jordan Hicks. We can count on Hicks giving up some runs; he almost always gives up runs. He will throw a quiet game up there every now and then that keeps his ERA under control, but most days we can count on 3 to 5 runs and a short outing with him. The question here is Quintana. Are we buying his career resurgence? He found something with the Mets last year, and he has been untouchable in 2 starts so far this year. Personally, I don’t see how, and I am betting on regression. I think both teams can get some runs on the board in the first half of the game, and while the San Francisco bullpen has been electric, we’ve watched the Brewers’ pen collapse several times already this year. Oracle Park doesn’t like to give up runs, but I’m going to dare the Over tonight.
