This series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs features tons of star power and should be extremely entertaining to watch. Shota Imanaga is set to start Tuesday’s game for the Cubs following his 2nd strong outing against a tough Padres lineup this season. Imanaga was able to battle through his close-proximity rematch against San Diego and will hope to do the same while facing the Dodgers for the 2nd time already this season. Their first matchup of the year resulted in 4 scoreless innings, but 4 walks limited his ability to work deep into the game. He did pitch well against the Dodgers last season, however, allowing just 3 earned runs across 11 combined innings pitched.
Dustin May will start for the Dodgers on Tuesday, making his 4th start of the season following an esophagus injury that kept him from playing in 2024. May has been sharp upon returning to the Dodgers rotation, providing the team with 17 innings and just 2 earned runs allowed for a rotation that could certainly use healthy options. May draws a tough matchup against the Cubs today and hitting conditions are favorable for this game. I’m leaning towards a Cubs win in what should be a fun game to watch.
