White Sox vs Red Sox Pickswise Expert Predictions
It is Patriots’ Day in Boston, and that brings us morning baseball. The White Sox will hang around to play a 4th game in this series after winning Sunday’s game, giving the White Sox only their 5th victory of the season. But on Monday, the lowly White Sox are required to play the role of the villain during Boston’s annual celebration—if not the Redcoats, at least the Washington Generals. This is a particularly important Patriots’ Day, too. Not only will we have the annual running of the Boston Marathon, but this year also marks the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, and thus the beginning of the American Revolution. With apologies to our British friends (some of whom write for this website!), the only true and patriotic thing to do on this occasion is to bet the Red Sox to win, and win big. Just like the revolutionaries of old, it is not enough to win; you also have to cover. #Yorktown
As for the actual baseball, the Red Sox are surely embarrassed to have taken a loss to the other Sox on Sunday, and the only real option when betting on White Sox games this year is to play the Run Line, one way or another. The Boston bats seem fine, and Walker Buehler appears to be getting better with each start. I look for a strong start for Buehler, making only his third home start at Fenway, plus some strong hitting from the Boston lefties atop the order. It is time to do the patriotic thing and bet the Red Sox -1.5. Always remember what Big Papi said on Patriots’ Day (and if you don’t remember, I’ll have to let you look it up for yourself). My White Sox vs Red Sox best bet is the Red Sox on the Run Line.
White Sox vs Red Sox Prediction: Red Sox -1.5 (-130) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
