Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees Prediction, Odds and Picks for Thursday, 09/26/24

Last night the Yankees were unable to capture the AL East division yet again against their division rivals, losing by a final score of 9-7. Judge has homered four games in a row, and tonight he’ll be looking to continue that streak as he’s doing everything possible to help his team secure a division title.  The Yankees will be handing the ball to their ace, Gerrit Cole, in hopes to prevent a sweep at home against the Orioles, which brings us to our Orioles vs Yankees prediction. 

Gerrit Cole is 7-5 this season with a 3.67 ERA.  Cole rebounded nicely in his last start after struggling against the Red Sox, throwing a complete game against Oakland, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven.  For the Orioles, they’ll be looking towards their ace to complete the sweep as Corbin Burnes takes the mound.  Burnes is 15-8 this season with a 2.95 ERA and he’s been solid as of late, not allowing a single run in his last 14 innings pitched.  The Orioles have to be happy having Westburg, Mountcastle, and Urias back in their lineup as it seems to have made all the difference in their offensive production in this series against the Yankees.  I expect a pitchers duel tonight, but I’m going to back the Yankees as my best bet in this series finale to finally secure the AL East so they can finally relax and start to prepare for the postseason.
