Grant Thornton Invitational Predictions, Golf Picks and Best Bets for Tomorrow, 12/13/24

Tony Finau and Nelly Korda are the strongest team on paper but there are question marks over Finau’s fitness and the better bet could be the in-form pairing of Tom Kim and Jeeno Thitikul. Top-class Thitikul signed off the LPGA season with a win at Tiburon while Kim found only the brilliant Scottie Scheffler too strong in the Hero World Challenge last week. Both players are strong putters, Thitikul in particular, and that’s generally the key to success in this low-scoring event.

Jason Day and Lydia Ko put their short-game prowess to good use last season and look the biggest dangers as they seek to defend the Grant Thornton title. New Zealander Ko has had an excellent year, winning the Olympics and the Women’s Open, and she is a 2-time Tour Championship winner at Tiburon. Day, meanwhile, struggled at the Hero last week, finishing tied-last of 20 players, but the Aussie was previously 8th in his homeland in the Australian PGA Championship.
