Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs Sam Houston State Bearkats Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 10/16/24
Western Kentucky vs Sam Houston State Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky head down to Bowers Stadium in Huntsville, Tex. to take on the Sam Houston Bearkats in an important Sun Belt Conference on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers belted UTEP last time out, winning 44-17 to cover as 18.5-point number as the Over (56) cashed. WKU is 5-0 ATS in the past five games since getting pounded at Alabama to open the season. However, we’re more interested in the offense, which has gone for 20 or more points in each of the past five games, while allowing 20.0 PPG in the past four outings.
The Bearkats of Sam Houston are relatively new to FBS, but they’re making a big splash in the SBC this season. Sam Houston has five wins in six games, and it also crushed UTEP last time out by a 41-21 score as a 10-point favorite to cash the Over (50). The total has gone high in the past two SBC games, and Sam Houston has scored 31 or more points in four in a fow, and five of six games. The defense has allowed 30.0 PPG in the past two outings, too, so look for a real Texas shootout on Wednesday night. The specialty of the Bearkats is the run game, as it racks up 228.8 rushing yards per contest. However, defensively, they’re just so-so against both the pass and run, allowing 23.8 PPG. WKU is terrible running, but passes for 278.8 yards per game, and defensively it is subpar, too. We should get a game into the 60’s.
Over 55.5 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to 56.5.
