Wake Forest vs Miami Pickswise Expert Predictions

Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Game Totals Pick
Over 64.5(-110)

Fresh off their first loss of the season, the Miami Hurricanes will look to rebound against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Hurricanes have fallen victim in the past month of starting off slow in games. They often will turn up the intensity in the second half and their talent and speed will overwhelm their opponent. That was not the case in their last game against Georgia Tech. Miami lost against Georgia Tech 28-23 on the road despite 348 yards passing from Cam Ward and 3 touchdowns. Once again, the strategy will be clear for Miami, to get off to a better start. They will have to do that against Wake Forest who are losers in their last 2 games. The Demon Deacons last loss was a 31-24 loss against North Carolina. Wake Forest was unable to slow down running back Omarion Hampton, allowing 244 yards rushing. Wake Forest will need to put together a better defensive effort this week, especially with the starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier potentially out with an injury.

Miami should be coming into this game fresh coming off their bye week. They get an opportunity to test their offense against one of the worst defenses in the ACC. In Wake Forest’s last 2 losses, they have surrendered a combined total of 77 points to California and North Carolina. In total, the Demon Deacons surrender 437.9 yards per game and 32.5 points per game this season. We have seen the Demon Deacons struggle to create stops all season, and this week will be their toughest test against Miami. Miami’s offense is explosive but their defense leaves room for improvement. Miami’s defense has allowed 5.2 yards per play this season and 316.6 yards per game. If Wake Forest can limit their turnovers, they should be able to find some points on the offensive side of the ball. I’m backing the over in this game, fully expecting Miami’s offense to put on a clinic in a bounce back opportunity.
