Ohio State Buckeyes vs Northwestern Wildcats Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 11/16/24
Ohio State vs Northwestern Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Ohio State Buckeyes put their No. 2 ranking on the line against the Northwestern Wildcats at Wrigley Field. Ohio State is coming off a 45-0 victory against Purdue last weekend, cashing as a 37-point favorite as the Under (56) cashed. The Under has hit in three in a row, while going 5-1 in the past six outings. Ohio State’s defense has picked up the pace, allowing 16 10.0 PPG in the past three contests, while allowing 17 or fewer points in eight of nine games, with two shutout victories. The Buckeyes have allowed seven or fewer points in five games this season, too. They’re No. 1 in the nation with 250.8 total yards, 155.6 passing yards, 95.2 rushing yards and 10.7 points per games.
The Wildcats picked up a 26-20 win in overtime last time out on Nov. 2, but it was just the fourth time Northwestern has scored 24 or more points. The Northwestern offense has really struggled, posting just 288.1 total yards, 176.0 passing yards, 112.1 rushing yards and 19.2 points per game. Defensively, Northwestern has done a decent job, allowing just 21.9 PPG, but the passing defense has allowed 241.0 yards per game. That’s great news for QB Will Howard, WR Jeremiah Smith and the passing defense. The Wildcats don’t have the offense to keep up. But the defense should keep this to a 35-6 kind of a game.
Under 44 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to 43.
