Nebraska Cornhuskers vs USC Trojans Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tomorrow, 11/16/24
Nebraska vs USC Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Nebraska Cornhuskers take on the USC Trojans in a newly minted Big 10 game. Nebraska and USC have been disappointing at best this year. The Cornhuskers are 5-4 with their best win being a 28-10 victory over Colorado and their worst loss coming last week in a 27-20 defeat against UCLA. USC is 4-5 with their best win being a 27-20 week 1 game against LSU and their worst loss being a 29-28 loss to Maryland on the road. Both of these teams could use a win and would like to at least get to a bowl game in an otherwise disappointing season.
Nebraska has shown some promise on the defensive side of the ball this year. They rank 22nd and allow on average 19.1 points and 308.1 yards per game. It is impressive and holding an offense like Ohio State to 21 points proves it’s not just on paper. Unfortunately for the Cornhuskers, their offense has been atrocious. They are ranked 101st and average 23.6 points and 354.1 yards per game. That has just not gotten done this year with 3 of their 4 losses being less than a touchdown. USC has had a similar problem with all 5 of their losses being less than one score. Unlike Nebraska, USC’s offense is ranked 51st averaging 30.6 points and 437.8 yards per game. Historically their defense has cost them games but this year they rank 48th defensively allowing on average only 22.2 points and 370.8 yards per game. The Trojans just can’t seem to finish in big games, other than LSU to open the season. This is a story of a defensive-minded team, Nebraska, against an offensive-minded team, USC. Nebraska has played a few good offenses like Colorado, Indiana, and Ohio State in which they are 1-2 and 2-1 against the spread. USC has played good defensive teams like Minnesota, Penn State, and Washington in which they are 0-3 and 1-2 against the spread. That combined with both of these teams like one-score games is why I like Nebraska’s to cover the spread in this game. Take the Cornhuskers on the road.
Nebraska +7.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
