Marshall Thundering Herd vs Ohio State Buckeyes Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 09/21/24
Marshall vs Ohio State Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Thundering Herd take the short trip up from Huntington to Columbus to take on the high-octane Ohio State Buckeyes offense. Marshall hit the road Sept. 7 in its first true road game and got hammered 31-14 at Virginia Tech. If it wasn’t able to stop the Hokies, the Marshall defense is going to have a terrible time trying to slow down Ohio State. The Thundering Herd allowed 208 rushing yards in Blacksburg, while giving up 130 yards through the air. It was minus-1 in the turnover department, and if it has a negative ratio against the Buckeyes, they’re going to get buried.
For Ohio State, like Marshall, it is coming off a bye. Both teams will be rested and raring to go after two full weeks to recharge. That’s bad news for Marshall, but good news for Over bettors. QB Will Howard has instantly jelled with 5-star true freshman WR Jeremiah Smith. The Buckeyes also have a tremendous one-two punch with former Ole Miss RB Quinshod Judkins folding into the offense nicely with RB TreVeyon Henderson. While the Ohio State defense has been dominant against less opponents, the Buckeyes could very well take care of the Over on their own, with little to no help from the Herd.
