Part of the busy Saturday slate of college bowl games is the New Mexico Bowl, and we are here with your Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns vs TCU Horned Frogs prediction. We have here one of the rare matchups between a mid-major conference and a power conference, even if TCU finished in the crowded middle of the pack in the Big 12. Louisiana closed its season getting blasted by Marshall 31-3, but it was missing their quarterback – who appears to be on track to return for the bowl game. That should help the Ragin’ Cajuns, but they are likely still punching out of their weight class against TCU. My Louisiana vs TCU prediction is TCU -12.
TCU is a strong offense, and it wasn’t long ago that coach Sonny Dykes had the Frogs in the national championship game. His offense is still potent, and I don’t expect the Cajuns to offer much of a defensive challenge. On the other side, TCU’s weakness is no doubt its defense, but the Frogs should be quite superior to this Louisiana team with a significant speed advantage. TCU has had a mediocre season, beating the lower end of its schedule and losing to the better teams on the way to an 8-4 record. However, this feels like a mismatch; I’ll take the Frogs.
Louisiana vs TCU Prediction: TCU -12 (-110) available at the time of publishing. Playable to -13.5.
