Florida State Seminoles vs Duke Blue Devils Prediction, Odds and Picks for Friday, 10/18/24
Florida State vs Duke Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Florida State Seminoles hit the road for Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, N.C. for an ACC battle with the Duke Blue Devils. Florida State has had a disastrous season, and obviously it is well documented. The Seminoles lost in Ireland to Georgia Tech. They lost at home to Boston College and Memphis. They were blown out by SMU on the road and QB D.J. Uiagalelei suffered a fractured finger that required surgery. Redshirt freshman QB Brock Glenn took over at Clemson and he was decent, throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns. The new signal-caller might be OK.
The Blue Devils have had a tremendous defensive effort this season, so it will be an uphill climb for Glenn and the offense. However, Florida State heads into this game never having lost to Duke in 20 meetings in the all-time series since 1992 — that kind of lopsided history has to count for something. If ever there was a time for the Blue Devils to pick off the ‘Noles, it is this season. The last time FSU visited Duke was the closest game in the series, a 17-10 win on Oct. 14, 2017. I’m taking the points with FSU, although I know I’m taking a big chance siding with the historical trends over the season trends.
