The Pirates of East Carolina look to keep the wind in their sails as they head to Tulsa for a conference game against the Golden Hurricane. East Carolina fired head coach Mike Houston following the loss to Army on Oct. 19, entrusting the program to interim head coach Blake Harrell. That has looked like a smart move, as these Pirates are giving no quarter to anybody. ECU pounded Temple 56-34 on Oct. 26 in Harrell’s first game, and it throttled FAU 49-14 on Thursday night. The offense is averaging a ridiculous 52.5 PPG in two games under Harrell’s leadership, and the Pirates should keep their foot on the gas, looking to grab bowl eligibility with another victory. The Over has cashed in four straight games, as the defense has allowed 34 or more points, too.

For Tulsa, they were on the short end of a 59-21 score at UAB, and it has allowed 45 or more points in four of the past five games, while giving up 20 or more points in every game this season. This Golden Hurricane defense has been pathetic, allowing 449.4 total yards, 308.6 passing yards and 38.4 points per game this season, and it is scary to think how well East Carolina’s offense will perform against it. The Tulsa offense is just so-so, but it should find plenty of open spaces against an ECU D which yields 393.2 total yards, 233.9 passing yards, 159.3 rushing yards and 26.8 points per game. The scoreboard operator at Chapman will be busy on Thursday night.
