Villanova Wildcats vs Maryland Terrapins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tomorrow, 09/21/24
Villanova vs Maryland Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Maryland Terrapins will welcome the Villanova Wildcats Saturday afternoon in an FCS vs FBS game. Maryland started the season 2-1. They are coming off aa 27-13 victory last week at Virginia. Junior quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. lead the way for the Terrapins with 263 yards passing and two touchdowns. Senior receiver Tai Felton was his favorite target all game, connecting nine times for 117 yards and a touchdown. Felton has gotten off to a fast-paced start this season, receiving higher than 100 yards in each of the first three games. Maryland’s one loss this season came at home against conference rival Michigan State. The Terps will be looking to right the wrong as they return home this Saturday. Villanova is looking for their first 4-0 start since 2019. The game against Maryland will be the first time the Wildcats are playing an opponent this season from the FBS.
This Terrapins offense is filled with offensive threats and has the potential to run the score up on the Wildcats this Saturday. The loss of Taulia Tagovailoa should not slow down the Terps. Edwards Jr. has already proven to be a passer, averaging 8 yards per attempt. Points should not be hard to come by against a historical poor football program in Villanova. Maryland’s main concern will be Villanova running back Isaiah Ragland. Ragland won conference rookie of the week after 141 yards rushing against Towson. I trust that the Maryland defense will be able to keep Ragland in check. If Maryland can force Villanova, we could see Maryland improve their Big Ten-best +10 turnover ratio to start the season.
Maryland -17.5 available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
